The Crawler Transporter climbs the Crawlerway at a 5 percent grade to the hardstand at Launch Pad 39A, carrying its heavy burden of the Space Shuttle Atlantis on the Mobile Launcher Platform. Atlantis will undergo final preparations for the launch of Mission STS-86, which will be the seventh docking of the Space Shuttle with the Russian Space Station Mir.
