A road sign points the way to Launch Pad 39B, the final earthly destination for the Space Shuttle Endeavour and its steppingstone into space. Endeavour began the slow journey from the Vehicle Assembly Building at about 10 a.m., April 16, perched atop the mobile launcher platform and carried by the crawler-transporter. Upcoming activities at the pad to prepare Endeavour for flight on Mission STS-77 include installation of the payloads in the orbiter's payload bay. (Photo Release Date: 04/16/96 )
