This document is not intended as the last word on next generation vehicle technology investment priorities. The list of candidates must be expanded. Further detailing is required for each technology reviewed as to possible benefits and programmatics. The conclusions, however, are valid now and into the future. Tripropellant options are not compatible with a goal of affordable access to space; TPS candidates must be robust and maintenance free (as in zero-waterproofing) and we must reinvent our way of doing business.
The method used for this prioritization is not included in these excerpts. The final quad chart will be activated as soon as possible. For further information or a complete copy of this document contact Edgar Zapata, NASA, KSC at 407-861-3955 or edzapata@digital.net.
As the technology lists grow quantitatively (number of possible persuits) and qualitatively (amount of knowledge on each) further prioritization results, methods and information will be placed here.
