Facilities
The Launch Systems Testbed facilities include a Trajectory Simulation Mechanism (TSM) and control room. The TSM provides a means of performing scaled tests to simulate actual launch environments. Using cold-jet acoustic sources, this 1/10th scale launch simulator provides a means of testing and validating models and analytical methods by approximating the conditions that occur during the first several seconds following rocket motor ignition.
The operation of the TSM is performed in the adjacent Control Room, which houses the TSM control system and data acquistion and analysis equipment. Return to LST Homepage |
