- The Humionics Society (HS) is a working group
dedicated to the discussion and advancement of Body Wearable Computer technology. Proposed
activities include the publication of a journal, the organization of special interest
groups, conferences, seminars and tutorials. The Society operates without any
discrimination on grounds of race, religion, nationality, or political philosophy.
- The HS was founded in July 1997 by Troy Bentley of
NASA-KSC & Ann Trausch of NASA-MSFC to provide a forum for academics, industrialists,
researchers and students to share and develop their vision of body wearable computers and
their applications. The HS strives to foster an active membership through which it
communicates and disseminates its collective knowledge.
- Members of the HS are encouraged to be proactive in
influencing the society's professional development, through involvement in its internal
administration, publications, conferences, special interest groups and interaction and
affiliation with other professional societies.
- By joining the HS you will become a member of one of
the most forward looking societies representing the interests of a community concerned
with developing technologies. The HS will provide you with information central to the
evolution of body wearable computer technology as a discipline, and its practical
application. Through its information dissemination activities, the HS will help you
develop and maintain contact with the scientific and technological developments taking
place throughout the world.
