Launch Complex 40-41

The United States Air Force uses two space launch complexes, Launch Complex 40 and Launch Complex 41, at Cape Canaveral AS, to launch the nation's largest expendable rocket, the Titan IV.

Both LC-40 and LC-41 were originally designed to support Titan IIIC space missions, which began in 1965. Since then the complexes have been used to launch a variety of military and scientific missions including NASA's Mars Viking missions launched in 1975 and the Voyager missions launched in 1977.
