Building AE is Kennedy Space Center's cleanest payload processing facility, maintaining a class 10,000 clean room rating. The facility, located on Cape Canaveral Air Station, houses the NASA Expendable Launch Vehicle (ELV) Launch Control Center and offices in addition to the processing bay. Building AE was acquired by NASA through a NASA/Department of Defense agreement and extensive modifications have since expanded the payload checkout and test capabilities.

The Building AE complex is surrounded by a chain link fence, but currently no special badging is required to enter during normal business hours.
