Title: STS-57 MS3 Wisoff, in EMU and atop the RMS, is maneuvered in OV-105's PLB
Description:
Backdropped against the blackness of space, Mission Specialist 3 (MS3)
Peter J.K. Wisoff, wearing an extravehicular mobility unit (EMU), stands
on a portable foot restraint (PFR) (manipulator foot restrait (MFR))
attached to the end of the remote manipulator system (RMS). Wisoff is
being maneuvered above Endeavour's, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 105's, payload
bay (PLB) as part of Detailed Test Objective 1210 extravehicular activity
(EVA) procedures. The PFR is attached to the RMS end effector via a PFR
attachment device (PAD). DTO 1210 results will assist in refining several
procedures being developed to service the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) on
mission STS-61 in December 1993. In the foreground are the open spacelab
(SL) adapter tunnel EV hatch and the SPACEHAB-01 (Commercial Middeck
Augmentation Module (CMAM). Only partially visible behind SPACEHAB-01 is
the Superfluid Helium Onorbit Transfer (SHOOT) payload liquid helium dewar
assembly.
