Title: STS-56 Discovery, OV-103, with drag chute deployed lands on KSC SLF runway 33
  Description:
STS-56 Discovery, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 103, is slowed by the deployed drag
chute during its landing sequence on concrete runway 33 at the Kennedy
Space Center (KSC) Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF). This aft view of
OV-103's landing shows the drag chute ejected from its compartment at the
base of the vertical tail, the deployed rudder/speedbrake system, and the
three space shuttle main engines (SSMEs). A small dust cloud rises as the
main landing gear (MLG) and nose landing gear (NLG) roll along the runway
to wheel stop. Touchdown occurred at 7:37 am (Eastern Daylight Time
(EDT)). Use of the drag chute was part of Development Test Objective
(DTO) 521, Orbiter drag chute system.
